Tobey Maguire seeks $14M for undeveloped parcel in Brentwood
The property is zoned for a nearly 16K sf mansion
Actor Tobey Maguire has put an undeveloped parcel of land in Brentwood on the market for $14 million.
The “Spider-Man” star and his former wife, Jennifer Meyer, paid $10 million for the nearly one-acre vacant property in an off-market deal in 2008, the Los Angeles Times reported. They never got around to building anything on the site prior to their split in 2016.
A new owner could potentially build a mansion up to 36 feet in height and spanning more than 15,670 square feet, according to website UnderBuilt.
The property was once the site of a Monterey Colonial-style home designed by John Byers, famous for the Spanish Colonial Revival style that’s prevalent in Santa Monica. Former residents include actor Jack Oakie, actress Greta Garbo and filmmaker H.C. Potter.
Richard Ehrlich and Stephen Shapiro of Westside Estate Agency have the listing.
Maguire has starred in a number of blockbuster films, including the “Spider-Man” franchise, “The Great Gatsby,” “Seabiscuit” and “The Boss Baby.” He also owns several properties in L.A., including a $13 million home in Brentwood Park and a modern compound in West Hollywood.
