WEA in the LA Times: Bel-Air estate’s celebrity pedigree includes actresses Meg Ryan and Diane Keaton
A Bel-Air estate formerly owned by actress Meg Ryan and once lived in by Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton is for sale at $24.99 million.
Among previous owners is “Mr. Mom” film director Stan Dragoti, who parted with the Mediterranean home in 1994 for $2.65 million. Ryan bought the 1931 two-story six years later for $8.5 million and sold it in 2012.
Set behind gates on a three-quarter knoll with unobstructed views, the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house features 9,000 square feet of restored living space. Interior arches, intricate wood ceilings and wrought-iron railings retain the home’s classic vibe.
The home features a living room with coffered wood ceilings, a refined wood-paneled pub/bar room, a roomy screening room/theater, a commercial-grade kitchen, a breakfast room, a family room, an office and a gym. There are fireplaces in the living and dining rooms, the master bedroom and the separate guesthouse.
The master suite has French doors that open to an outdoor loggia/dining pavilion, an expansive lawn and a swimming pool with a flagstone surround.
Vistas include the cityscape and the ocean. Some rooms also look out onto the garden courtyard.
Ryan, 53, is known for a string of romantic comedies including “You’ve Got Mail” (1998), “Sleepless in Seattle” (1993) and “When Harry Met Sally …” (1989). Kurt Rappaport and Richard Ehrlich of Westside Estate Agency are the listing agents.
