WEA in the News: Former NHL All-Star Sheldon Souray cuts a $3.5-million deal in Malibu
Former Anaheim Ducks defenseman Sheldon Souray has sold his home in Malibu for $3.5 million.
The gated Spanish-style house, built in 2007, is full of character and details such as Saltillo tile floors, beamed ceilings and wrought iron chandeliers. A row of arches divides a rotunda-style living room and game area.
A formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen, four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms also lie within the 4,817 square feet of interiors. The master suite features a separate entrance, his-and-hers closets and a tiled steam shower.
Outdoors, hedged-and-gated grounds center on an infinity-edge swimming pool and spa done in decorative Malibu tile. Mature trees and rolling lawns complete the 1.67-acre setting.
Souray bought the house six years ago for $2.93 million, records show. In recent years, it was offered as a long-term lease.
Mark Gruskin and Shirley Desear of Westside Estate Agency repped the buyer.
Souray, three times an All Star, played 13 seasons in the NHL for five teams, amassing 109 goals and 300 points in 758 career games. He last played for the Ducks during the 2012-13 season.
