On Carbon Beach, a compound with 100 feet of water frontage lists for $35 million
The sands of Carbon Beach are among the most exclusive in California. Listings don’t pop up often, but when they do, they often fetch a fortune.
Over the last few years, home sales in the enclave have flirted with and broken the $100-million mark. The latest to hit the market, a contemporary compound with 100 feet of beach frontage, is up for grabs at a cool $35 million.
In addition to the triple-digit frontage, the residence holds a stylish home, two swimming pools and spas, two pool houses, three guest apartments, and three storefront offices that face the Pacific Coast Highway.
Within 9,715 square feet of interiors are five bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a handful of open-concept living spaces. There’s a living room with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, a dining area, an office and a skylighted kitchen with an L-shaped island.
Elsewhere, a family room with mirrored walls takes in ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The master suite, complete with a corner fireplace, opens outside through three arched doorways.
Out back, a covered brick patio leads to the pair of pools. A staircase descends past the rocks onto the beach.
Such parcels are a rarity even for Carbon Beach, which also goes by Billionaires Beach due to its high-profile residents like actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Courteney Cox, film studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg, and billionaire Eli Broad. Last year, a two-parcel property owned by hotelier Peter Morton became L.A. County’s most expensive home sale ever when it traded hands for $110 million.
