Mansion Global: Drake Set to Buy Robbie Williams’s $85M Beverly Hills Estate
The Los Angeles-area home, a 20 acre compound with a 25,000-square-foot mansion, is trading hands in an off-market deal
Rapper, actor and Toronto’s favorite son, Drake, is expanding his property portfolio to the tune of many millions, snapping up a Los Angeles megamansion belonging to British musician Robbie Williams, according to a source with knowledge of the deal.
The nearly 20-acre Beverly Hills estate, which is in contract, was being quietly shopped around off market with an $85 million asking price by celebrity-favorite listing agent Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency.
Though details on the home are scarce, given the discrete nature of the deal, previously listing details paint a picture of a vast 25,000-square-foot main house situated at the end of a long, private driveway with pillars and balconies surrounded by lush grounds, a pool, a tennis court and a guest house. The home also boasts an elevator, a wine cellar, a gym and a game room.
Mr. Rappaport declined to comment on the sale.
Mr. Williams, 48, has owned the Tuscan-style estate since 2015, when he bought it for $32.67 million from Guess co-founder Armand Marciano, property records show. A final sale price for the property won’t be recorded until the deal is closed.
The singer-songwriter has also recently found a buyer for his English country estate, which was asking £6.75 million (US$8.9 million). Mr. Williams and his wife, actress and model Ayda Field, 42, bought the 70-acre English bolthole, known as Compton Bassett House, in 2009 for £8.1 million, Mansion Global previously reported.
Drake, 35, otherwise known as Aubrey Drake Graham, is one of the world’s best-selling music artists and has won four Grammy Awards and six American Music Awards.
Representatives couldn’t be reached for either musician.
