UK Real Estate Shoppers Focus on South Florida

The United Kingdom ranked among the top three foreign nations searching for South Florida real estate in March, its highest monthly ranking ever, according to the Miami Association of Realtors.
The U.K. jumped from seventh to third place in just one month. Home buyers from the European nation raked in the eighth-most South Florida transactions among foreign countries last year.
Colombia kept its lead in total searches, while Brazil dropped to fifth place — a steep decline for the nation that dominated the top spot for 13 consecutive months. The South American country’s withdrawal from Miami’s real estate scene came amid a turbulent economy and political crisis.
The top 10 countries searching for South Florida houses last month were Colombia, Venezuela, the U.K., Argentina, Brazil, India, Canada, France, the Philippines and the Dominican Republic.
On the domestic front, Texas was the U.S. state showing the most interest in Miami, followed by Georgia, California, New York and Illinois.
South Florida ranked as the top market in the world for international consumers looking for U.S. real estate.
